What does JESUS want for Christmas?

Have a Mary Christmas!      Luke 10:38-42

Don’t be a Martha this Christmas! Slow down, don’t be distracted. Do as Mary did – spend TIME with Him!

T alking      1 John 5:14

Do you talk TO Jesus or do you talk WITH Him?

I ntimacy      James 4:8

Intimacy is not physical, it’s personal! It’s not small talk, it’s deep. It’s about KNOWING each other.

M emory      1 Peter 4:12-13

Tough times are just memory-building! There is a glorious side to tragedy. God will bring good from the suffering.

E scape      Matt 6:33-34

Seek God’s way first and the rest will come. Deal with today and don’t worry about tomorrow!

Real Christmas, Part 2: Prepare Him Room

We want a savior – but do we really want a king? Let Earth receive her KING!

Prepare a Place      John 14:1-3

Only one place can hold all of God – the heart of the believer. Is there room in your heart for Him? Jesus will not force His way in; He stands at the door and knocks.

* Door #1      Joshua 1:8-9

FEAR – holds you back! Open the door on all your fears and let Jesus take them. God is with you always, everywhere!

* Door #2      Col 3:13

UNFORGIVENESS – Jesus saw everything that happened, so why hold onto it? He understands and will walk with you to help you let go. When you do let go, He will leave peace and joy in place of the unforgiveness.

* Door #3      Rom 10:11-13

SHAME – keeps us apart, prevents us from getting close to others, and locks us in addiction. It locks us away as prisoners. You don’t need to hold onto shame – Jesus took it for you!

Jesus is the reason for EVERY season! When you need Him, does He tell you to wait til Dec 25th??

Spring      Psalm 1:1-3

It’s easy to see and feel God in the springtime when everything is new and fresh, blossoming and growing.

Summer      Psalm 63:1-5

When summer comes and gets hot, wearisome, and exhausting will you still remember Him? Will you still praise when you’re weary?

Fall      Psalm 34:17-18

You made it through summer and got a little refreshment, but things start to fall apart. Things will continue to fall apart unless you call on the ONE who can help.

Winter      Habakkuk 3:17-19

In the cold, dark, dreary winter when all you can see is “yuck” around you, He is still there. Still praise Him and let HIM be your strength.

No matter what season YOU are in HE is still there.

Grow Up! Part 4: Do I Measure Up?

November 27, 2011
Play

No, you don’t! Once you accept that you don’t measure up, life becomes a lot easier.

The least you can do is CARE
C – ompassion      Col 3:12-14

Clothe yourself in compassion – make a conscious effort every day to be attentive to others and assist them with their needs.

A – pplication      2 Tim 3:16-17

To care means to apply. Don’t stop at reading and memorizing the Word – start doing what it says!

R – eduction      John 3:30

Reduce yourself (selfishness, control, seeking approval). Step aside and let Jesus take over!

E – yes      Heb 12:2-3

Where are your eyes fixed? Fix your eyes on Christ, the perfecter.

Surrender in God’s kingdom means you WIN!!
