The 7 Types of Churches, Part 3: The Forgiven Church
03/07/10Rev 3:7-13 – The Church in Philadelphia
Are you drowning in condemnation or chasing people down to thank them and share the story of your forgiveness?
The church in Philadelphia:
• Kept His word (knew, followed, and proclaimed the truth)
• Kept His name (did not forget or forsake the name of Jesus)
• Kept His command (to endure patiently)
Overcomers are promised:
• Crown
• Pillar (stability)
• God’s name (marking them as God’s beloved children)
• City name (a sense of belonging)
• New name (Christ Himself will give you a new, unique name that identifies you in Him)
Luke 7:47 – “…her many sins have been forgiven – for she loved much. But he who has been forgiven little loves little.”
Let Jesus take ALL your garbage from you. Leave it at the cross, then go out and share the love.
